Battle of the Brothers at Outlaw Half Nottingham

04 August 2025

There was a buzz around Outlaw Half Nottingham 2025 — and it wasn’t just about the course records. Two standout performances came from athletes carrying some serious family pedigree, as Jake Laidlow and Joseph Yee took on the Outlaw course in style.

Jake Laidlow, younger brother of IRONMAN World Champion Sam Laidlow, crossed the finish line in 4:29:28, competing in the 18–19 age group. It was a strong performance from the French athlete, showcasing impressive composure and potential over the middle distance.

Not far behind in terms of impact was Joseph Yee — brother of Olympic medallist and British triathlon star Alex Yee — who clocked a 4:09:39 in the 20–24 category. It was a sharp, well-paced race from start to finish, and a clear sign that Joseph is carving out his own space in the sport.

With world-class talent in the family and exciting careers ahead, both athletes turned heads and added an extra layer of excitement to this year’s race.

Outlaw isn’t just where legends race — it’s where the next generation makes their mark.
